Bride to be

It has been a while since I’ve updated this blog, and I might as well update you with the two biggest changes in my life since 2015: I have a new job AND I’m getting married! First things first, how Tim proposed:

On Sunday, June 26, 2016, I had a three-fer birthday! I moved to Norman that week, my birthday was Sunday AND … I got engaged! Was a total surprise via coffee cup at Victory Family Church. I love you, Tim Burnett!

I arrived at church for the 10 o’clock service and, as usual, went to the kitchen to say hello to Tim. He met me at the counter and asked if I wanted a cup of coffee. I normally take a sugar-free vanilla latte but this time I asked for it on ice. He suggested that I take it hot because I get very cold in the church. Little did I know that it was important for me to take the coffee hot because he had written some special words on that cup.

Our friend, Kysa, presented the cup to me and I noticed there was a message on the front. It said “will you marry me Yvette love Tim!” I looked at her and smiled and said “very funny.” She looked at me in all seriousness’s and said “I didn’t write that.” I looked over at Tim and he was presenting me with a beautiful solitaire ring.

I was in shock! I never saw this coming! A week before we were on the top of the waterfall and a volcano and he hadn’t popped the question. I figured if he didn’t ask me to marry him in all of God’s natural beauty then I probably wasn’t getting a proposal this year. But leave it to Tim to surprise me. I have come to learn that there’s no predicting what he will do. Just know that he always has the best intentions. And so I’ll go along for the ride with him as Mrs. Tim Burnett.

So, all in all, a great birthday weekend! Thanks for all your congratulations and best wishes!
