WHAT IS MOTION DESIGN
Motion design is a discipline that applied graphic design principles to filmmaking and video production through use of animation and visual effect. Examples include product commercials, branding videos, title sequence, film/game HUD design, micro interactions, event openings, VJ, cinematics, art concept videos, or anything that moves. Often comes with storylines and sounds, motion design creates better experiences.
MOTION DESIGNER COMMUNITY IS GROWING AND IT DESERVES MORE ATTENTION
In the past five years, Motion Designer has a slightly rising trend. However, comparing to other designers (visual, graphic, product), it is still a minority group
It’s even less noticed in China
Baidu Trends doesn’t even have motion designer results, so I used another website to generate related search keywords to see the comparison.

There is a huge lack of resource for people in China to know, learn, and pursue motion design (most platforms are about UI/UX/graphic design)
On UISDC (优设), one of the biggest design sharing platforms in China (daily visitor > 620,000), there are only 4 articles that tagged with “motion design” out of over 10,000 articles.
There are platforms in English, but language/culture is a big barrier
There are some good platforms such as Learn Squared, Motion Design School, School of Motion, greyscalegorilla. However, all the content is in English and might not 100% fit in the industry situation in China. A lot of people got pushed back when there are no translations.

How might we create an online anime convention where people can enjoy hanging out with friends and artists/merchants can still sell their product during post-COVID-19?
WHAT IS ANIME CONVENTION?
An anime convention is an event or gathering with a primary focus on anime, manga, game and Japanese culture. Commonly, anime-con is a multi-day event hosted at convention centers, hostels or college campuses.
Many anime events have become collateral damage of the coronavirus.
Huge events such as Naka-Kon (Kansas), MomoCon 2020 (Atlanta), Anime Boston (Boston), AnimeJapan 2020 (Tokyo) were canceled.
There are people whose finances are dependent upon the cons.
Special guests such as professional voice actions, musicians, cosplay models, artists, often rely on event appearance as a key source of income, as well as the anime-related businesses.
Post COVID-19 might be a trend and no one could predict but prepare.
The world will not be affected equally by COVID-19, and people’s life ‘will never be the same’.
The virtual event is the future trend
There are more virtual events happening such as the Travis Scott concert in Fornite. However, how to deliver the interactive experience and re-create merchant business digitally is still a challenge
