Beacon Summer Internship 2023

We are really excited to announce the 2023 Beacon Summer Internship program!

We are looking for university students typically in STEM or Economics, with a passion for technology.

The 2023 Beacon Summer Internship is an opportunity for you to gain full exposure to the wide scope of tasks you will encounter in the world of Venture Capital. You will be involved in all areas of the business, from deal sourcing, to selecting and structuring investments in young technology businesses across Europe, all the way through to operations.

This is an 8-week internship starting in July 2023 with the opportunity to extend further. It is full-time, and you will be based in London with the option for some remote working. Alongside the day-to-day work within Beacon, the interns will also build an investment thesis on a vertical of their choice which will be presented to and discussed in the Beacon Investment Committee at the end of the program.

What we are looking for:

• Fiercely inquisitive individuals
• Currently studying for or recently graduated from a Bachelor’s/Master’s/MBA program with a preference for those with a STEM and/or Economics & Finance background
• Understanding of and interest in venture capital, entrepreneurship, and start-ups
• Understanding of and passion for technology and enterprise software

As an intern, you will primarily:

• Help the Beacon team research and map technology trends to identify thesis-aligned investment opportunities across Europe
• Shadow the team members during the deal flow process from initial interactions with founders through to term-sheet negotiations
• Support the team in helping our existing portfolio companies as they scale, with tasks like financial modeling and sensitivity analysis, market mapping, and competitive analysis
• Have the opportunity to develop and publish your own content
• Attend events alongside the Beacon team, meet with like-minded individuals in the industry, and build your network here in the UK and Europe
