Yes I do all of them. Depending on what it is I’m doing I experience relative degrees of success but voting and local officials aren’t always the best avenues for pitching ideas. In my experience, community gatherings often consist of relational institutions formed by people with pre existing relationships and are tough to find out about or join. I’m a member of many because I’ve lived here awhile and actively engage in my community but for others who lack pre existing relationships, accessing these relational institutions that get things done can be quite difficult. The point I’m trying to get at with the above writing is how we can make the relational institutions that get things done in communities more formalized so that people don’t need pre existing relationships to access them if they have ideas and want to bring them up with others.
