“but if that were true, Bran would no longer exist as we now know him (he, at best, would be Hodor).”

I thought so too, but the theory hinges on the GOT timeline being predetermined, and Bran being unaware of it. Therefore he continues to make attempts to warg into characters from the past to defeat the threat of the White Walkers. Eventually (but not yet in the show!!!!) he will warg into the man that became NK, and then he will become Hodor-esque in the present as you proposed :)

Note that I’m terribly biased on the subject as I subscribe to Bran=NK.

The only part of your argument that doesn’t hold up for me is that Bran can’t warg into people in the past- I felt that the Hodor scene proved Bran could do this, although I wasn’t able to grasp your “early-morning logic” on Bran-Hodor-Willis-Bran-NK-Bran-Leaf-Jojen-Bran-Hodor connection. In all seriousness, its the Hodor-Willis connection I’m struggling with. How could Hodor (and his scrambled brain) see/influence his younger self even with Bran’s “help”?

Nail down that how with firm details and you just might drive a dagger into the heart of Bran=NK.

Good Read.
