How I maxed out my retirement savings contribution limits

Below is a simple exercise I run once a quarter to help me identify and reallocate unnecessary spending towards my retirement savings accounts.

Step #1: Pull a list of your credit card, bank, and Venmo statements from the previous three months.

Step #2: Scrape each expense line by line. Bucket expenses into broader categories. Skip over the necessary expenses in your life such as rent and utilities.
