Amazing piece. Couldn’t agree more…except with this. Not disagreeing about mansplaining (definitely happens) nor inequity at admin level (completely true). Am disagreeing with the assertion that sensitivity and vulnerability are “female traits”. Isn’t that just straight up gendering? Are you claiming that if I’m an approachable male administrator who wears weird shirts that I’m actually engaged in some subversive “gender appropriation”? That’s how this part of the piece currently reads and that’s whack, honestly.
