The Weird Muskian Future !
Musk’s visions of the future may be bold but the question is, who they are really for?
Elon Musk, the face of futurism, Mars Colonisation and Technological breakthrough. But what if I tell you, instead of being a revolutionizer of technology intended for the good of humanity, Musk is an exceptional businessman and the most self-centred futurist, the world has seen in a long time.
After muting all the hype around this guy for a second, let me take you through the journey of his major projects and ambitions, to understand more vividly and clearly, who Elon Musk is, for real.
After spending enough time in research and observing his projects, I think Muskian Future is a glaring bright one, but not for the reasons you think. His business strategy is so unique that the masses are still incapable of understanding his broader vision of the future. Let’s understand what I really mean by these statements.
Musk and his “Failed” Projects
The Hyperloop
The hyperloop is an idea, which is proposed by Elon to reduce the traffic conditions in cities. It takes you from point A to point B through underground tunnels. These pavements are designed currently for Tesla cars to move around but would be replaced by some cyberpunk looking pods in the future.
This might sound familiar, right? It sounds just like the metro. That’s the point. It is fundamentally a metro, but with major disadvantages. It can’t take too many passengers. Excavating more tunnels is costly. And the fact that paving those tunnels just to move 4 to 5 people at once is just a wastage of time and resources.
And that’s the reason why a minority of the population criticize it, yes a minority, because the majority haven’t really thought about it, thanks to the hype pouring over Elon from Twitter and media channels. But the critics say, it’s not going to work and it’s not viable. And let me explain to you in the latter part of this article, that this idea is not as lame and stupid as critics think it is.
The Mars Colonization
The idea of colonizing another planet is bonkers, and yes, it is one of the most important projects, making up for the increase in Elon Musk’s popularity.
One crucial fact that most people skip out under all this hype, is the finances. Does anyone even know how much would it cost to thrive a civilization of human beings on another planet, i.e, Mars?
From the resource and financial perspective, it is completely impossible for the human race at its current state to transport and habituate, from Earth to Mars.
So, what is Elon thinking? What’s the goal he is trying to achieve?
(There are many other projects like Star Ship, Tesla Semi-Auto, etc. which I skipped over for the sake of maintaining the word limit on this post.)
The Tesla and SpaceX Popularity
We all know Tesla, everyone loves it. It is seen, something as revolutionising as a Ford car during the 1900s. But do you know the fact that Tesla was never Elon Musk’s idea?
He bought the company in the year 2004 and gave it some massive upgrades by deploying his engineering team on the field. Flaring up the popularity of Tesla’s Electric vehicles and consequently of Musk through Twitter and many other platforms. Combined with the establishment of SpaceX, and his vision of Mars, his popularity is unmatched right now in the realm of the tech world.
But that’s the trap he wants everyone to fall into. Projects of SpaceX and Tesla. His main motive is to gather more and more popularity in order to make his expensive Tesla models, which at least cost $35,000 US Dollars, sound like a great deal to the people and earn heavy profits out of his car manufacturing business.
The same goes for SpaceX, the better he maintains his trust with the public, the easier it gets for him to make revenue on taxpayers money through the contracts SpaceX signs with the government.
But why? why, does he need the money and the trust of people to fund his various projects like the colonization of Mars or excavating tunnels for cars, when it is practically not a viable solution to our existing problems.
Let’s answer this question.
The Muskian Future
Well, let me make this as blunt as possible, Musk never intended to make a future where everyone would enjoy the technological advancements of better vehicles, transportation systems or colonies on Mars and Musk needs these profits and revenues to build the projects he wants to build.
Musk always intended to make projects for his own purposes, be it the hyperloop, which many suggest its inability to take more passengers is a bug, I believe it is instead, a central feature. For elites like Musk and others to reach their destination quicker, without having to mix with the rest of us.
Making colonies on Mars when our planet might become inhabitable due to climate crises and developing many other products like Neura-link, Open AI, etc. to specifically focusing on making weaponry and advancements in human biology is his preparation for the near-apocalyptic future.
When people think about Musk’s projects they assume them to be intended to serve humanity at large and praise them on this basis, but that simply is not the case with our future guy Elon Musk.
Muskian future is not the one in which scarcity and social hierarchy have been eliminated. Muskian future is about the elite and the wealthy having an edge over all the rest of us in a near to come dystopian future.
