Definition of MacOS

MacOS, formerly known as OS X, was the first operating system with GUI developed and distributed by Apple inc. The operating system is available on the Macintosh computer. The operating system was first released officially in 2001 and was popular among the users. MacOS is the second in the “most users” category, the first of which is occupied by Microsoft Windows. MacOS also had an outstanding quality and a distinct presence in his operating system.

What is MacOS Monterey?

Represents the apple desktop operating system for the 12th version of the Macintosh computer, which was released officially on October 25, 2021, as the successor of macOS big sur. It was replaced with the new product macOS by Apple inc, macOS Ventura on June 6, 2022.

Features

  • Universal Control

This feature could make the mouse, trackpad, and keyboard work on the iPad, too. When the cursor switches from the Mac to the iPad, then the cursor will form into a rounded point. This feature can be used for up to three devices, if you want to use this feature without linking both devices you can set it to continue functioning with universal control in system preference. The interesting feature of universal control is that it can drag and put content between devices.

  • Focus Mode

This mode focus is a feature that can configure notifications that will appear to keep our focus on work, playing personal time and many things when neither using a laptop nor using it. Users can also set or create a special focus based on the activities to be carried out.

The user can also arrange allowed interference, an automatic reply (which will be answered with a bot). This feature also has flexibility in the feature “urgent message.”

  • Shortcuts

This feature provides system-level smarts, by running finder’s, bar menus, spotlight, dock, desktop, and so on. These features also contain cross devices where users can make and manage the sophisticated devices made on iPhones, iPads or macs for any device, and auto spin are aligned throughout the device.

Users can also run compatible iPhones and iPads on the Mac at M1 or on the Intel-based Mac system with the Catalina application. This feature has also been developed than the previous version, claimed apple has a smarter smart-ball editor.

  • iCloud+

This feature can make us multitasking better, because they can store and set tabs as per wish. This feature could cause us to switch between tab groups using the drop-down menu or redesign sidebar.

  • Safari Tab Groups

This feature can make us multitasking better, because they can store and set tabs as per wish. This feature could cause us to switch between tab groups using the drop-down menu or redesign sidebar.

  • SharePlay

This feature gives new ways to share experiences with family and friends on facetime with content from the apple TV app, Apple Music, and other supported apps. SharePlay allows everyone in a FaceTime call to view a photo, browse the web, or help each other.

  • Airplay to Mac

This feature has two main functions :

  1. Airplay with Mac allows you to share the content of an iPhone or iPad directly to the Mac.
  2. Airplay speakers support playing music through the Mac sound system.
  • Notes

Notes is a go-to app to capture any thought and with the new Quick Note feature, we can jot down ideas no matter where we are or what we’re doing on your Mac. It’s like writing a note directly on whatever app we’re working in. Add links, Safari highlights, tags, and mentions to a Quick Note, so you can get to important names, numbers, and ideas easily.

Problems that exist in MacOS Monterey

  • A few of applications got freeze or crash

A few of applications got freeze or crash when it release or while using it. The solution to overcome this problem are update the application or delete and reinstall the application.

  • AirDrop didn’t work properly

AirDrop didn’t work properly is also one of the problems in macOS Monterey. For example, the AirDrop menu doesn’t showing any nearby devices even when we turn on the nearby device. There are two solutions to overcome this problem. The first thing we can do is open AirDrop in the menu, click ‘Allow me to be discovered by’, and choose ‘Everyone’. The second thing we can do is ‘Block all incoming connections’, so if you have activated firewall on your Mac, that might be blocking the connections which making the AirDrop didn’t work properly.

  • Sometimes unable to connect to the Wi-Fi

There are two solutions to overcome this problems. The first thing we can do is turn off then turn on again the Wi-Fi. The second thing we can do is ‘Forget’ the Wi-Fi and reconnect it again.

  • Sometimes refuse to connect to the Bluetooth

Frequently, our Mac is refuse to connect to Bluetooth or sometimes the Bluetooth isn’t available at all. And also, there are times when our Mac automatically disconnects from the Bluetooth. The solution to this problem is to turn off and then turn on again the Bluetooth, if this didn’t work, you can try setting again your Bluetooth device and connecting it again.
