Me?! A Single Mom. What can I give? And what about my son?

Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”Isaiah 6:8

“The harvest is plenty but few workers.”

“Fellowship is important for growth.”

I had the opportunity to connect with some inspiring believers in Christ, whose hearts are for missions.

Spreading the gospel begins in your backyard, your loved ones, your friend. And it means to trust in Jesus for the rest. For, only he can change hearts.

A year ago if you asked me, whether would I ever consider doing missions. I would without hesitation say “ I have a son, no finances that allows me to travel right now. Sorry, I can’t! I am sure that the Lord has others in mind.”

But soon enough, God would prove me wrong. God has a sense of Humor.

I met Ramona, a German missionary girl, who works through Liebenzell Missions. She has been serving in Ecuador for the past few years. Our meeting was ocastrated by the Devine hands of God.

No joke! I met her for a week or so last summer of 2015 before she departed back to Ecuador.

“Nothing happens by coincidence, there is always a purpose behind!”

Through her presentation, I got the opportunity to hear this young lady speak on her journey and passion as a missionary in Ecuador.

In the end, she urged all audience from T.A.C to pray for specific needs as one being that God would touch and bring the exact brothers and sisters in Christ from Canada to help with the harvest.

What! Libenzell is mobilizing a team to go to Ecuador. Tell me more about.

Though I didn’t think much, my heart rejoiced and so I prayed:

“Dear Lord, thank you for what you are doing in Ecuador. Please send workers, who will joyfully take part and serve the people with love.”

Little did I know, God would used her to plant a seed in my heart.

“For I know the plans, I have for you…” says the Lord. Jeremiah 29:11

What do you do, when you hear God whisper;

“Why don’t you go, my daughter? You have the time to do it! Your son will be under my wings. I have much to show you!”

As clear, as your voice, I heard God speak to my heart. But, later ignored by filling my mind with doubt and lies.

So I said “Lord, out of all people you go and choose me?!”

Wrestling with thoughts. A another strong thought came again into my mind “Why not?!”

“But lord!” I said. “ I am broken and weak single mother! What can I give or do?”

The Lord said to me “So, are the many broken souls, who need a saviour in Ecuador. You must go and share with them, who saved you, loves and heals you.”

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 2Corinthians 12;9–12

It was then, that the Lord took me to summer of 2012, when I cried out unto the Lord and re-dictate my life to him. I promised to the Lord, that if he gave me full custody of my son. I would serve him for the rest of my life.Nov. 25.2013 prayer was answered. God gave me full custody over my son.

Be Careful with what you ask in prayer to God. Plus God never answers when you are ready but when HE is.
I know, if it was up to me, I wouldn’t wait for a full year but just a day.

But, In god’s infinite wisdom, God needed to work on me, change me and begin the process of healing.

I was a emotional roller coaster during those years.

Anyways continuing…

Discouraging thoughts tried to fill me with lies, bad news and doubts. So that I wouldn’t go to Ecuador.

“You are not qualified for this!”

“Your son is going to struggle in your absence.”

“ Look, there is earthquake. Don’t go!”

Sometimes loved ones in their concern would say “There is Zika in Ecuador!”

May 4.2016, God gave me such a confirmation and peace in my heart that surpasses all understanding. More, God answered prayers which left me in awe.

God is amazing. Could this really be?!Yes!

I don’t know what the future holds for me and my son but I know this…The Lord is with me always.

The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Deuteronomy 31:8

God has opened this door and by faith I walk knowing and trusting the Lord will keep me.

Let then my foundation be like a rock in Christ Jesus.

For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.1 Corinthians 3:11
I know, I will come back changed forever.

Please pray, as I embark into this adventure from July 6–20 2016. My very first mission trip. He will guide my steps and continue to show me his will. That my heart will always be ready to hid unto his voice.

Prayer points:

  • safe travels both arriving and returning to Toronto.
  • That language will not be a barrier but a bridge to meaningful conversations and fellowship in Christ, Jesus.
  • As I share my Letter of Hope and Ramona translates, may God prepare the hearts of those who seek for hope. That in Christ Jesus, they might be restored.
  • That God bless and use my mother and sister, as they care for my son. Although, it’s only two weeks. It’s first time my son is apart from me. He is my Issac!
  • That Lord will open doors for networks and good relationship building.

Thank you for those who support me in prayer.
