The Apple Event of September 9th: A Total Joke

Hi guys, hope you are doing well. Today we are going to go over the Apple Event in which I will show the new features, and give my opinions overall. Without further ado, let’s get started!

What We Anticipated

Before the morning of September 9th, leakers had painted a clear picture of the new iPhone and predicted the following:

• iPhone 16 and Pro will come with little features except the new capture button (iPhone 16 camera layout gets moved around)
• iPad and Macbook release (this was a small rumor knowing that this doesn’t follow the release patterns of the devices)
• AirPods 4 gets released as a cheap alternative to the Pros
• Apple Watch reveal theory was in the air
• Apple yapping about their Apple Intelligence

Except for the iPad and Macbook release, I can say that our anticipations came through as true! Let’s break down the actual event.

iPhone 16 and 16 Pro

So what was new with the iPhone 16? One new feature is blaringly clear: the camera layout. This camera layout has been seen to help out with making spatial videos for the Apple Vision Pro. But overall this looks like the camera layout many generations ago.

In the iPhone 16 they are “built for Apple Intelligence” but that doesn’t make any sense because iPhone 15 Pros support this too.

They added the capture button that allows for photography that allows you to zoom in and work on settings just by hovering over the button. This crazy cool but I want to see how the iPhone case companies make the phone to use this.

Then they made the clear improvements that have been minute but just repetitive. New camera (which professional will use a iPhone), better battery life, thinner bezels.

They added macro picturing and picture themes. And it makes me wonder… these are features of photography… no ordinary person will need these photography stuff and professionals would want to use an actual pro camera. Another thing is that iPhone’s selling point is security and ecosystem. If you want to sell more iPhones work on those!

iPhone 16 Pros:

Again the pros did not bring that much differences like the iPhone 16s. Cool photography, capture button, ceramic shield, high battery. Nothing really unique. If you jumped straight to this read my thing on the iPhone 16, there is nothing really different except it is just *slightly* better that is about the same.

Overall this event is not going well.

Apple Watch

The event then introduced the Apple Watch 10, which is the currently best smart watch for normal overall people (not fitness) hands down in the market. However this was also disappointing. Main features included:

• Swim stuff like tides a depth (which is pretty cool but who will take their watch in water)
• Sleep Apnea (cool!)
• Carbon Neutral (nice!)
• Big display (same as always)
• Thinner (boring)
• Better battery life (boring)
• Fast charging (boring)
• Break Resistance (boring)

Yeah the watch also brought the same stuff like the iPhone, random cool stuff, and then repeating their claims from the last year with big display and battery life.

Moving onto the Apple Watch Ultra

The release featured a ton of new stuff including:

• Whatever came out from the Watch 10
• Cool track running stuff that can see if you are on the track lane
• Lot of workout and data things it gets and saves including swimming
• GPS features
• Hiking trails maps
• Exercise Control
• AND A TON MORE

The Watch Ultra 2 hands down just brought a ton of features and scored gold for the fitness people. AWESOME!

AirPods Stuff

Let’s start with the AirPods 4s:

These new AirPods brought a ton of features that were Pro only and they include:

• Siri Interactions with the Nods
• Noise Cancellation + Transperency + Conversational Awareness + Adaptive Audio + Personalized Spatial Audio (these are the main things with pros that have migrated)
• Wireless Charging
• High fit
• Sensor
• Apple Silicon
• Case Speakers

Overall the AirPods have shown that there is finally a really good alternative to the Pros with low price (relative to Apple). At this point Apple is redeeming themselves!

AirPods Pro 2 Improvements

So that AirPods Pro 2 could not only just be the eartips, Apple buffed the AirPods Pro 2 with a software upgrade and it brings a hearing aid integration.

Now the new software update will include a hearing test that you can do with the AirPods, a Hearing Aid feature that will help people with hearing issues, and Hearing Protection that can help.

This is so cool helping out those that are not fortunate in the hearing state and I want to see how this develops for AirPods in general.

AirPods Max! omgosh

Yeah so Apple is still confident in AirPods Maxes, include “good” sound, Noise Cancellation.

So AirPods Max is clearly a dying market, there are better headphones than these, yet idk Apple is still not over it.

Interpretation

This event had its ups and downs, and though I woven my interpretation when going over the features:

• iPhones: It had the same minute improvements with the capture button and small new features. Overall it was a wreck and unless you want Apple Intelligence, the whole thing was a joke
• Watch: Watch 10 was overall the same stuff BUT Watch Ultra 2 had a ton of features that was very cool.
• AirPods: AirPods 4 gives a cool cheap alternative to the Pros, the Pros got buffed heavily with the Hearing Aid stuff, and AirPod Maxes are just weird.
