Don’t let anyone tell you to ignore it, to disregard it, that it isn’t a legitimate feeling. Often they will do so by disguising their denial of your feelings as “compliments,” such as saying things like, “you are so talented, you have no business doubting yourself!”
I would like to encourage you (and as I write this, encourage myself, as well) to be with the doubt, be with the sorrow or fear or pain or whatever feeling you may find undesirable. Notice it. Love it. Love that you acknowledge it, that you are privileged to have the experience of the full range of human emotions while you are here on this Earth, in space and time.
There is no such thing as not worshipping. Everybody worships. The only choice we get is what to worship… If you worship money and things — if they are where you tap real meaning in life — then you will never have enough. Never feel you have enough. It’s the truth.
…heartache — even through the recent death of my father and the subsequent fracturing of my family — but I am finally aware that I can love each member of my family in a more intentional way by simply allowing them to be who they are and caring for myself at the same time.
