Everything You Need to Know About Black Lives Matter
These huge corporations will be okay. You know who won’t be okay? George Floyd’s family. Breonna Taylor’s family. Ahmaud Arbery’s family. Please be a human being. . We used hashtags. We kneeled. We explained. And y’all ignored us!! Burning down a TARGETS is what it took for people to start to discuss the injustice issues in America that have been going on for CENTURIES???? If that same Target had caught fire accidentally, no one would have bat an eye. No one would have lost sleep. No one would have noticed. I’m not here to say whether burning down businesses is right or wrong. But this is what it took for people in power, large corporations, and the rest of y’all to PAY ATTENTION???!
Everything else leading up to this, was IGNORED. George Floyd was the just the tip of the iceberg!!!!!! If you care more about a Target being burned down than about the families who have been affected, hurt, or mourned loved ones who were innocent, killed by the police and NEVER received justice, you have serious morality issues that you need to figure out. Because black people been fed up! The rest of the world just didn’t care.
And lastly, stop being insensitive and saying all lives matter. WE KNOW THAT THERE ARE GOOD COPS IN THE WORLD. WE KNOW. Let me break it down because for some reason people are still not getting it. Imagine your cousin got surgery and that the surgeon accidentally made a mistake and killed your cousin in the process. You would be hurt. You would be upset. You would be angry. You would want justice because it could have been prevented. Imagine you’re upset and you go on social media and your friends/family members/co-workers have the nerve to tweet/post “I’m sorry that happened to you, but my friend is a surgeon and a lot of surgeons are good people so you shouldn’t be upset.” Does that make sense? Did that fix the problem? Did that help? Was that relevant???? Did that bring your cousin back????
That’s how IGNORANT you sound when you say all lives matter. WE KNOW THAT ALLL LIVES MATTER. But right now we’re talking about the BLACK ONES. Just because YOU haven’t been effected, does not mean you need to voice your opinion. Just because YOU have never been discriminated against doesn’t mean you get to speak for the people that have been. Just because YOU know one or two good cops does not mean you need to belittle the people who have been hurt by the bad ones.
At the end of day, cops get to take off their uniforms. If the job is too dangerous, they have the option to quit. I’m black EVERY DAY. I don’t get to quit. I don’t get to stop being hurt by people using the N-word, telling us to get over it on social media, and ignoring the issues that are right in their face.
SOME OF YOU ARE MAKING IT VERY CLEAR THAT YOU CARE MORE ABOUT A CORPORATION THAT MAKES BILLIONS BEING BURNED DOWN MORE THAN THE FACT THAT INNOCENT BLACK PEOPLE DIE EVERY DAY.
WHAT MATTERS MORE TO YOU?????
If this is making you uncomfortable, GOOD. THAT IS YOUR CONSCIENCE WAKING UP. YOU KNOW WHAT IS RIGHT AND WHAT IS WRONG.
PLEASE. PLEASE. PLEASE.
Educate yourself before you speak and talk negatively on the things going on because we all see it. It is hurtful to know that people that I truly thought cared about me in my life could care so little about black people dying and can find the time to comment on social media but can’t find the time to get properly informed. There is still so much work to be done.
It’s really not complicated. Are you a good person and going to help people who clearly need it or are you somebody who watches and does nothing because you are not personally hurting or because you personally do not understand? Because a very hard pill that I’ve had to swallow is that y’all do get it. It’s not that I’m not explaining it well enough. It’s not that we’re being destructive. It’s not that we’re being offensive.
SOME OF Y’ALL ARE JUST CHOOSING NOT TO CARE BECAUSE YOU DON’T HAVE TO CARE. YOU ARE SITTING BY, WATCHING FROM THE SIDELINES AND VOICING UR IRRELEVANT OPINION THAT ISN’T HELPING ANYONE BECAUSE YOU HAVE NOT GOTTEN UP AND DONE ANYTHING TO HELP THE SITUATION AT ALL. I URGE YOU TO MOVE.
Why does it offend you so much when I say my life matters???? Think about that for a second. By saying black lives matter, I am literally saying that I, ZAIRE ANNETTE DAVIS, MATTER. That’s it. There’s no hidden agenda. There’s no secret message. I matter. My life matters. If that offends you, if that threatens you, if that angers you, please check on the hate in your heart because at the end of the day, you’re going to have to take that up with God and answer to Him, not me.
Look up the names that we are hastagging. Please visit change.org. Go to the board meetings in your hometowns. Spread awareness. Vote. Watch the news. Donate. There are families that are hurting right now. There are tears that are being ignored. A simple dollar could make all the difference in the world.
