Is photojournalism important and necessary?

This might be a question that most of us might have think about it, and I think the answer is most of the time “yes”, photojournalism is important and necessary. The reason is that it is easy and fast to understand for the audience. Also those people who are illiterate, they can also by looking at the photo understand the event. A photo with a capture sentence can describe the event, while in a written article at least two sentences can describe the event for the readers. Another reason that it is important is that photojournalism can visualize the event in the audience or the reader’s’ mind, which can effect on the understanding of the event for the readers. The purpose of the photojournalism is to capture the event of news that makes the news. Also, photojournalism is about taking the readers deeply into the event or raises their feelings about the event. That is why people remember news in the images because they are powerful and emotional. We should consider the facts that photojournalism is very dangerous job because the journalism should be in event and take a live picture of the event, which in some cases can take the life of the journalist; and their work is always original they can not take from another sources. Therefore photojournalism is very important in media, in fact it is our window to the world around us, a picture is worth a 1000 words. Here is an example of photojournalism by Nick Ut in the Vietnam War.
