Do visitors really use a museum website to plan their visit?

I just wrote a long-ish explanation of how we roll at Bristol Museums on Rob’s blog but wanted to shout YES! to the “checking details” idea you have written about. We started using “plan a visit” and quickly realised it was actually “Whats on?” which I think is along the similar vein of “checking details”. For us the user testing and journeys show there is a def “ I’m on a third party listings website and i just want something to do” vibe which could be called planning but is looser. I’ll be following along to see how Rob and co fair. The consideration of how in-bound referrals come is very interesting and should form part of the publishing workflow seeing as that is often how folk hear about us.
