River with boats and in the background hotel Ukraine

Since 1957, the Hotel Ukraine has welcomed guests from across the globe with magnificent interiors and stunning panoramic river and city views. The majestic hotel is ideally located in the center of Moscow in a bend on the Western bank of the Moskva River. With its unique architectural blend of 20th-century austerity and Renaissance finery, Hotel Ukraine is one of Moscow’s finest neo-classical high-rise buildings. For some time after its construction, the hotel was the world’s tallest. As with many Soviet-era buildings however, the hotel was in dire need of an update by the 21st century.

Closed for Renovation

In 2005, God Nisanov and I acquired the hotel at auction for £59 million. In 2007, the hotel closed for renovation with the goal of completely restoring it. The façade was beautifully redone, and the interior was modernized to the highest standards with luxuriously appointed furnishings and fittings. The hotel also received an equipment and technology upgrade that included a new air circulation system and a multi-level water cleansing system. During the three-year makeover, a contract was signed with the Rezidor Hotel Group to manage the hotel as part of the Radisson Royal group. Although it is now generally known to be under the Radisson Royal brand, Hotel Ukraine retains its original name for a variety of purposes.

A Grand Opening to Display Outstanding Amenities

On 28 April 2010, Hotel Ukraine once again opened its doors to the public as the Radisson Royal Hotel, Moscow. It offers a range of contemporary conveniences suitable to both business and recreational travelers. Visitors are comfortably accommodated in 505 luxurious hotel rooms and 38 splendid apartments. The hotel’s well-equipped business and conference center along with an entire floor dedicated to executive events can cater to all business needs. To ensure that guests have a totally relaxing experience, there is a refreshing spa and wellness center complete with a 50-meter heated indoor swimming pool. Guests can also enjoy river cruises with the Radisson fleet of yachts right outside the hotel.

Art in Abundance

The walls of this superb hotel are richly adorned with over 1,000 original works of art by some of Russia’s most prominent early 20th-century artists. One of the most eye-catching works is a diorama called Moscow — Capital of the USSR. Located on the first floor of the hotel, the three-dimensional model takes visitors back in time as it features Moscow and its surrounding areas the way it was in 1977 when the diorama was created.

Welcomed to the Elite League

In January 2019, the Hotel Ukraine was once again rebranded as the Radisson Collection Hotel, Moscow. Only one-of-a-kind spaces that blend elegance with form and function are selected to form part of this exclusive group of hotels. Each one is unique and authentically harmonized to its environment, making it an ultimate destination for the discerning traveler.
