With more than three decades of experience as a sales professional, Zariq Siddiqui holds the title of sales director at Abbott Laboratories in Chicago. To prepare for his career as a sales and marketing executive, Zariq Siddiqui attended The College at Brockport, State University of New York.

The College at Brockport traces its roots to 1835, when a Baptist group and local leaders established a traditional school offering higher education to students who had completed the eighth grade. In the 1860s, the school was named Brockport Collegiate Institute, and Principal Charles McLean established the long-running Greek Letter Societies, which operated until 1940.

The institution became Brockport State Teachers College in 1942. This extended its curriculum to four years instead of three and granted graduates bachelor’s degrees. In 1948, the college joined the State University of New York (SUNY) system. Like other colleges after World War II, Brockport experienced rapid growth under the G.I. Bill.

Today, the College at Brockport offers 29 degree programs to its 1,400 students and is one of the 10 largest international education programs in the United States.
