The “Mother of the Nation,” Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, has announced the theme for this year’s Emirati Women’s Day, which is celebrated annually on the 28th of August. This year’s theme is “We Collaborate for Tomorrow,” which was chosen in accordance with UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s announcement of 2023 as the “Year of Sustainability.”

Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak emphasized the importance of Emirati Women’s Day, stating that it highlights a set of objectives that align with the country’s strategy that recognizes and empowers the crucial role of women in the country. The UAE has made gender balance an integral part of the nation’s social culture, and collaboration between federal and local authorities, civil society, and the private sector is key to enhancing achievements in this area.

It is remarkable that two-thirds of the management team and more than 50% of the administrative staff leading the charge in addressing the serious issues connected to climate change in advance of COP28, which is scheduled to take place in November 2023, are women. This highlights the dedication of the UAE toward gender balance and sustainable development.

So, let’s celebrate Emirati Women’s Day with the theme “We Collaborate for Tomorrow,” and recognize the crucial role of women in building a sustainable future for the UAE.
