Unify — Running Wallet on Windows Workaround

PART A — Enable WSL — Install/Setup Ubuntu Enable the Windows Subsystem for Linux feature

  • Open the Windows Features dialog (Start — Search for OptionalFeatures.exe)
  • Enable ‘Windows Subsystem for Linux’
  • Click ‘OK’ and restart your PC Open Microsoft Store and search for “Ubuntu 18.04” or use this link https://www.microsoft.com/store/productId/9N9TNGVNDL3Q
  • Click Install In Windows Start Ubuntu
  • Create a new UNIX user account, name this account user (this is a separate account from your Windows account)
  • Create a password for this new account In Ubuntu run these commands. Y when prompted
sudo apt update sudo apt upgrade
  • If Prompted, Tab -> Enter -> Yes Restart Services
  • Continuing in Ubuntu run these commands. Y when prompted
sudo apt install build-essential libtool autotools-dev automake pkg-config bsdmainutils curl git sudo apt-get install qt4-qmake libqt4-dev libboost-dev libboost-system-dev libboost-filesystem-dev sudo apt-get install libboost-program-options-dev libboost-thread-dev libssl-dev libdb++-dev sudo apt-get install libminiupnpc-dev sudo apt-get install libssl1.0-dev libdb++-dev libboost-all-dev libqrencode-dev
  • PART B — Get Unify Source Code — Build Wallet Continuing in Ubuntu run these commands
git clone https://gitlab.com/unify-crypto/unifycd /home/user/unify/src/leveldb && make clean && make libmemenv.a libleveldb.acd /home/user/unify && qmakemake
  • This build step will take several minutes, If successful you will see
`export DISPLAY=:0.0
sudo /home/user/unify/unify-qt -daemon
  • This will start Unify and it will open as a Window in Windows Close Unify Wallet in Windows
  • In Windows go to
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages\CanonicalGroupLimited.Ubuntu18.04onWindows_79rhkp1fndgsc\LocalS tate\rootfs\home\user\.unifyV2
  • This is the .unifyV2 folder in the Linux system viewing through Windows.
  • Paste your wallet.dat here
  • Reboot computer for this to take affect Quick start up steps In Windows
  • Start Xming In Windows
  • Start Ubuntu In Ubuntu
export DISPLAY=:0.0sudo /home/user/unify/unify-qt -daemon
