Context Diagram + App Functional View + Deployment Diagram

Teams Toolkit for Teams Apps

The last 2 weeks have been busy as we have started to attempt development as well as completing lots of admin work. I (Adil) began playing around with teams toolkit; attempting to integrate some pretty cool functionality into the basic teams apps such as Voice Commands. With Microsoft Graph, complex functionalities have become decomposed into something much simpler. For example, I can add SSO and interactive calendars very simply. We have many ideas such as a dashboard, displaying patterns in your physiotherapy using data from previous sessions. There appears to be such a large scope for innovation using Teams Toolkit and we can wait to explore!

System Design

Also, these last few weeks we have been asked to work collaboratively with a few groups, including post-graduates. As mentioned in our previous blogs how we’ll need to work with teams for different gestures and for recording data. It was important for them to understand our project so I found it an opportunity to draw: Context Diagram, Functional View Diagram and a Deployment diagram. These diagram will also be useful to us for the system design part of the project which will be on the website. For starters, the Context Diagram, was extremely useful for other teams to get a basic overview and understanding of our project, and why we need to collaborate. The Deployment Diagram helped our team understand the interdependency between the hardware and software in our system, we feel this will be very important when it comes to developing the application. Finally, the functional view is a visualisation tool for seeing how all the components of the app interact and their respective relationships.
