I Started Living Life Without Any Regrets, Here’s How You Can Do It Too

Here’s what every motivational book will teach you

I have some bad news and some good news for you. Here comes the bad news. Are you ready? Here it is, read slowly and carefully: You, my friend, are going to die! I’m sorry, but you are. You are going to die.

Now, maybe your death will be fast so you won’t even have the chance to think about your regrets. You won’t see it coming, maybe. You may be hit by a truck while crossing the street and eating the ice cream. You may even have a stroke while having the best ever wild and dirty sex with a woman (or a man) you were dreaming about for years. Now that would be nice, wouldn’t it?

But you know, that probably won’t happen to you. You are probably going to be aware that you are going to die a long before it happens. Statistics, baby.

Ten, twenty or maybe fifty years from now, you’ll probably get seriously sick. Then one day you’ll have a seizure, and the ambulance car will come to take you to the hospital. And, while you listen to the sound of ambulance…weeeeooooweeeeoooweeeeooo… you’ll realize that this is your last ride. You were drinking coffee while watching a movie at home only 20 minutes ago. And now, while laying paralyzed, you are beginning to realize how that was your last coffee and you only drank half of it, and you know that you’ll never finish that movie you were watching. And that’s when you really start being afraid.

Than in the next couple of weeks or months, while laying on the hospital bed waiting for a death to come, you’ll think about your life. You’ll think A LOT. You’ll think about “how my life would look like if I did XYZ?”. And you’ll have regrets. Oh, my friend, you’ll have so many regrets.

Why didn’t I read that book that stands on my shelf that I always wanted to read? Why didn’t I went on that trip around the world I’ve always talked about? I wanted to see the world, but I saw shit! Why didn’t I ask that girl out a long time ago? How my life would look like if I started a business when I had that awesome idea?

At that point, you would give anything to have another chance to do things differently. You would give anything to go ten years back in time, or to go where you are now! At that point, you’d give anything to have problems you have right now, but also to have chances you have right now. Problems you have now will look so stupid and unimportant from the deathbed. You’ll wish you didn’t complain so much instead of… living.

Now, don’t start crying yet, there’s a good news here!

There is a way to avoid having miserable life and being regretful, especially in your last days, and to live your life to the fullest. But there is only one way to do that! The good news is that you can do it. Yes, you. I can’t claim that you can live your life to the fullest if you are in prison, or if you are laying paralyzed in your bed, but otherwise, really nothing stops you! Nothing except you, yourself and your mind. And that’s something you can change.

Now, I’m not dead. In fact, I have never died before. But some things in life are so obvious and predictable that you don’t have to live it to know it.

I have read many inspirational books and watched many inspirational videos, and I am really motivated. If I weren’t, I’d be sleeping right now instead of writing this for you (it’s 7AM now!). I can teach you what all those books and videos have taught me. Here it is: every inspirational book, and every inspirational video can be put in one word — Action! That simple.

So do it! Just stop complaining and start doing things. Stop having excuses and read that book, go see the world, ask that girl out, start that business… It’s just that easy, it really is! Just, please, stop complaining, stop having excuses and do something, for god sake! Just do something!

Start something today. Now! Make the first step and you’ll realize what the next step has to be. You don’t need all the answers before you start, you just need to make the first step.
Just do the first step. Action, remember, is the key to happiness!

Just make a decision what you want to do and who you want to be. Make a decision and stick with it. It’s a decision that separates you from being what you want to be, because you can be whatever you decide to be, you just need to make that decision. “Everything around you that you call life, was made up by people that were no smarter than you.” said Steve Jobs. So yes, there are no excuses, make a decision to be great, and you’ll become great. Simple as that! When you make a decision, when you set a goal to do something and when that something become a must for you, not should, but must, everything you do will lead you to the moment you were dreaming about. Everything will be logical and easy, every step in the middle, just make a decision to be great.

If you are not lazy and you don’t complain all the time, but you just didn’t find your passion yet, don’t worry. There is an easy way to find what moves you. In my next post on Tour Via Me blog I’ll talk about how to find something that you are going to be great at so much that you’ll become an inspiration to others. I’ll be sure to show you how.
