Letter to ‘Big’ George Foreman

Dear Mr. Foreman,

I watched your fight with Ken Norton the other day and then felt compelled to write this letter of appreciation. It is one of my favourite fights and knockouts of all time.

Right uppercut. Right hook. In a flash. Overwhelmingly enough to drop the almighty titan that is Ken Norton. I found it incredible how you turned such a mean, tenacious knockout into a thing of beauty. In my opinion, that is the definition of a great boxing match.

That fight happened 20 years before my parents even met, but it’s a great reminder of the long lasting impact you’ve had on ‘The Sweet Science’.

When it comes to making an impact on the world George, you’ve left a bruised rib and a black eye in the most endearing sense of the word. I thank you for being such a positive ambassador and influence on future generations, both in and out of the ring.

I look up to you and appreciate what you’ve done for boxing. I thank you leaving your brilliant mark on the sport and will continue to use your positive attitude and will to succeed to improve my own life.

You are a true sportsman and under appreciated class act,

Thank you Mr. Foreman,

Zac Easton
