My ALC Journey In Retrospect

I was supposed to have registered for the ACL (Android Learning Community) program by Andela and Udacity when the application link came out but i thought the program was meant for beginners who were just starting out their Android Development career, so i refused to apply.

After i missed out of the application process, my friend Ekundayo Blessing Funminiyi who happened to be a room mate of mine back in school applied and kickstarted the program. Some weeks into the program, he would occasionally tell me about the program and the benefits inherent in it. It was at that point that i realized that i have missed out of such an opportunity to solidify my android development skills and get certified as an Android Developer by Google.

Thereafter i started thinking of how i could possibly re-apply. The golden chance came 6 weeks after the program had started. It happened that Andela would be replacing non-performers in the program with new set of people. I got a new application link from Ekundayo Blessing Funminiyi, i applied swiftly and some few days later, i received a congratulatory message from Andela.

I thereafter joined the team on slack, completed and submitted three projects within 7 weeks and finally wrote my Android Developer Certification on Saturday 15th of July.

Kudos to #Andela for the World-class organization and the amazing opportunity. You have made an everlasting impact.

Gracias.
