This decision people made will cost her financially one way or another. In terms of what you’d expect a friend to do for you this would be the equivalent of stabbing one in the back. This isn’t some backyard preschool BS where you can have them apologize and make everything gumdrops and rainbows. The very real consequences her “friends” made and how that may now impact her life is harsh and uncaring and the only way to make real genuine change (that you can prove you actually mean this time) for anything in any situation is with money. Without sacrificing something of your own you can’t know how far someone is actually willing to go to show you “this is what my friendship means” or “this is what I’ll do to make things right”. This is one of those situations.
