Funny anecdote on why dogs must befriend ducks.

There was a strange tradition that every pup was taught in the verdant town of Barkington, where dogs ruled and ducks waddled freely: “If you want to be a true Barkingtonian, you must have a duck as your best buddy.”

Sir Woofster, the town’s first mayor, and Ducky McDuckFace, the lake’s most elegant duck, started it all. They were an unlikely couple. Sir Woofster was known for pursuing anything that moved, and Ducky was known for escaping playful puppies.

Sir Woofster was napping under a tree on a beautiful summer day when he felt a splash of water. Ducky appeared out of nowhere, holding a leaky bucket. Instead of being irritated, Sir Woofster found the situation hilarious and struck up a discussion with him.

They quickly realized they had a lot in common. Both enjoyed a nice sunbath, were big fans of the “Barkington Ball” activities, and, most significantly, thought the town needed more laughter. They formed a partnership, and their amusing antics rapidly became legendary.
