My Interests
I’ve been reflecting on my hobbies, i.e. what takes up the most of my time, what I like to read or watch, lately.

All our interests are probably shaped in childhood, when a person only starts learning and understanding the world around. Something absorbs attention, something falls off in the process. When we grow older, we realize that our childhood hobbies become something more and valuable. The lucky ones transform. hobbies into their dream profession and devote entire life to it.

Still, most people choose career that is entirely different from their interests. Therefore, we have to find time for our wants and pleasures between worktime and rest.
I may say that I got lucky to have profession that is mostly related to my school hobbies. I’ve been a curious kid, always tried to find answers to the questions on my own, and this skill helps me in my career a lot.
But some things and fields became of interest to me when I studied at the university, after I got 20, and this formed one more habit – blogging (online diary). I’ve got used to note everything as long as I can remember, by the way, and this love to blogging integrated into all my activities and the space I live in. I’ve started writing articles about my city, its life (events I’ve attended, urban problems).
Another fetish is gadgets, of course, and everything about them. I wrote many reviews on smartphones and tablets for a while. I think, the money I’ve spent on gadgets would be enough to buy a good car…
I’ve took note that I became very interested in alternative energy and its use lately. It all started with the rise of the electric transport and the electromobiles in particular. This trend became efficient to me in terms of my main job. The matter is that oil industry, one of the most. powerful branches in Russian economy, is going to decline, since the oil reserves are being undermined, and the Europe has already begun transition to alternative fuel. Such strategy is correct only partly because the production of electromobiles requires new plants, specialized in releasing batteries for this type of transport; the latter is also not environmentally friendly. Moreover, the electricity required to supply the batteries is also have to be produced, and the problem is that this production relies on old technologies (Hydroelectric Power Stations, Nuclear Power Plants, coal-fired plants etc.).
Programming is my old idea which I gave a new life to. It emerged in my mind in student years when I tried to make something on the website builder and post it online, but… I think I should start from the very beginning now. The desire to develop new and extend the boundaries of already gained professional skills became my own incentive to studying code.
In the end of this story I realize that I still have numerous topics and ideas to explore. But more about it you’ll read in my next post.
