Guild of the Day — August 27, 2020
ZenBlocks.io (hey, that’s us!) is a Top 21 Guild according to the Office of Inspector General’s monthly Guild Ratings reports. Here’s why — in plain English.
Minimum Requirements
ZenBlocks.io meets all of the Minimum Requirements established by the Office of Inspector General. This includes introducing their guild in a blog post, joining a secure communications channel and providing emergency contact info, interviewing with an inspector general and being part of the WAX Testnet. They also exceed the minimum score of 150 required to pass as an active/standby guild.
Technical Contributions
ZenBlocks.io offers significant technical contributions to the WAX blockchain. In fact, the only measure scored by the OIG that is not currently offered by ZenBlocks.io is providing history access to dapps.
Product Development
Providing tech contributions and meeting minimum requirements isn’t enough for ZenBlocks.io. They also contribute product development resources to WAX as well.
SQRL Wallet — Sqrl is the first wallet in EOSIO to support multi-chain functionality. Created as a fork of Greymass’ eos-voter, it was initially created to provide a desktop wallet for the novel Telos blockchain at the time of its launch, since no other EOS wallet was interested in providing Telos support. In 2019, Sqrl was updated to support WAX-specific functionality: auto claiming voter and GBM rewards (and automatically using these rewards to buy RAM), and auto-refresh of voting. Marlon also won 2nd place in the #BuildOnWAX competition for adding WAX-specific features.
WAX Office of Inspector General — ZenBlocks.io was the first chair for the WAX Office of Inspector General, working alongside eosBarcelona and EOS Detroit to develop the guidelines that would be utilized to measure guild performance on WAX. Read the Yahoo article for more information.
ANNOUNCING: WAX Desktop Wallet —the very first public announcement, WAX Desktop Wallet, or WDW, is a desktop wallet designed specifically to meet the needs of the WAX community. It is currently in development, but you can learn more at https://waxdesktop.io
Business Development
In addition to their technical chops, the Office of Inspector General looks for guilds to help contribute in business development as well. Current business development efforts by ZenBlocks.io includes:
- Bringing MagicLeap to the WAX Advisory Council
- Bringing Unity to the WAX Advisory Council
- Bringing Alcor.exchange to WAX
Community Engagement
ZenBlocks.io is a great contributor to the WAX community. They utilize roughly 20% of monthly guild rewards to reinvest into two community-focused content programs only about WAX:
- WOW! — this Week On WAX is the first WAX-specific weekly series covering all the important news and events in the WAX ecosystem
- Guild of the Day — this is a series of reports, released once or twice a week, highlighting the contributions of guilds to the WAX network. It utilizes the OIG data as a source of information, and further breaks it down into a report that anyone can understand
We hope you found this helpful! If so, please vote for ZenBlocksWAX to help us bring more useful services to the WAX ecosystem.
