Guild of the Day — August 5, 2020
Malta Block is a Top 21 Guild according to the Office of Inspector General’s monthly Guild Ratings reports. Here’s why — in plain English.
Minimum Requirements
Malta Block meets all of the Minimum Requirements established by the Office of Inspector General. This includes introducing their guild in a blog post, joining a secure communications channel and providing emergency contact info, interviewing with an inspector general and being part of the WAX Testnet. They also exceed the minimum score of 150 required to pass as an active/standby guild.
Technical Contributions
Malta Block offers significant technical contributions to the WAX blockchain. In fact, they are granted all of the possible tech contribution points under this category — a worthy accomplishment! The speed and performance of their servers are excellent and they provide a reliable environment for developers to work with.
Product Development
Providing tech contributions and meeting minimum requirements isn’t enough for Malta Block. They also contribute product development resources to WAX as well.
ZOS-IBC — a solution for Inter Blockchain Communication between WAX and EOS. They have released an upgraded version of ZOS-IBC architecture that was used in the EOSDT-WAX IBC bridge.
Phoenix Project — Phoenix is a platform connecting content creators with their fans. Phoenix enables content creators to develop a subscription based business. Fans who like particular creators can pledge a contribution to be paid monthly in WEOSDT. Creators receive their income in WEOSDT. They have released the first component of Phoenix which is a portal for easily transferring EOSDT to WAX or for easily converting WAX to WEOSDT or vice versa.
Business Development
In addition to their technical chops, the Office of Inspector General looks for guilds to help contribute in business development as well. Current business development efforts by Malta Block include:
EOSDT on WAX — This project was a collaboration between Malta Block, EOSphere and Aloha EOS. Malta Block developed and deployed the EOSDT — WAX IBC bridge. EOSphere and Aloha EOS contributed by testing and code review. You can learn more here.
DAPP Network Services on WAX — Malta Block has been working with the LiquidApps team for a very long time. This work by their team makes it much more straightforward for any new project looking to use DAPP Network Services on WAX.
Community Engagement
Malta Block is a significant contributor to the WAX community. They provide original informational content, organize events and help mentor community members.
They have organized several WAX Blockchain Meetups that are streamed live via CrowdCast, created several useful community tools, and have published several articles and videos about WAX. These community tools include @waxmeetupbot (a telegram bot for creating free WAX accounts); a price feed contract which uses LiquidOracle; a WEOSDT swap pool with circuit breaker; 2bpintegrity; and signupwaxwax, a smart contract for creating WAX accounts.
