A study by recruitment company Deel says there has been a significant increase in the number of people who are paid wholly or partly in cryptocurrency.
The proportion of such employees has increased by around 10% in the past year. And the researchers note not only IT professionals, but also actors, athletes or politicians prefer to switch to bitcoin and other coins.
More and more ordinary employees of companies are expressing a desire to do so. Analysts studied more than 100,000 contracts offered to employees living in 150 countries across Latin America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
52% of Latin American contract holders are paid wholly or partly in cryptocurrency. 34% of these employees live in Africa and the Middle East, and 7% each in North America and Asia Pacific.
63% of contracts list bitcoin as the cryptocurrency.
Next in the ranking are ether (ETH), Dash (DASH), Solana (SOL) and USD Coin (USDC). Jobs representing the blockchain industry are also growing rapidly around the world.
