I totally agree with the mock ups annoyance. Though, I like jobs and RAT questions more than problems…different mindset.
JOBS — User intent is to do “this” when they are here (data shows/interviews reveal, whichever quant/qual drives the point).
Jobs frame problems with intent and you can always add emotion or motivation to flavor it. User is sad because they cannot do X, intent not met :(
RAT (Riskiest assumption test) questions — We want to test the interest in this new feature idea before investing in building it (yes, we want to build stuff that people want)…here is our tiny feature thing to test that (button, email, link, survey, whatever works to get data to figure out RAT.
Lastly, I am not sure the last sentence you write adds value to the experience, it’s salty and abrasive (which is fine, if that is the intended UX takeaway).
