Text vs. World Trumps
Hossein Derakhshan

As Steve and David point out, text is a much more user-friendly (because instantly user-controllable, scan-able, skip-able, jump-back-and-re-readable) medium. That is why texting has largely replaced phone convos (and completely replaced the dreaded voicemail) among those not yet brain-dead. Which was greeted with great tisking by those not still brain-live.

Call me naive, but I believe text’s utility will keep it alive and in healthy balance with video. Ironically, it’s our much lamented “busy-ness” that will preserve it: who has time for video?
