A Rose’s Lament for Lost Love
The sun dips low, painting the sky in hues of gold and red,
A final, fleeting kiss before the light is fully fled
My velvet petals, once a vibrant crimson flame,
Now droop and wither, whispers of a love I can’t reclaim
I stand amidst a garden, a chorus of blooms in their prime,
But my fragrance carries a note of sorrow, etched by the passage of time
A single, glistening tear, a ruby droplet on my thorn,
A crimson tear, a constant reminder of a love forever shorn
We bloomed together, two souls intertwined in the sun’s embrace,
Our petals intertwined, a love story written on my face
His fragrance, a heady musk, mingled with my sweet perfume,
A symphony of nature, chased away the lonely gloom
But fate, a fickle gardener, with an uncaring hand,
Swept him from my side, leaving me barren in the shifting sand
The sun, once our friend, now mocks me with its golden ray,
A cruel reminder of the love that has withered away
Days turn to weeks, the garden slumbers in the chilly night,
My crimson tears freeze, a testament to a love that took flight
Other roses boast vibrant blooms, untouched by sorrow’s sting,
But their joy feels hollow, a meaningless, mocking thing
Perhaps, in the spring’s gentle caress, a new bud will unfurl,
A chance to bloom again, a love for a different world
But a part of me will forever yearn for the warmth of his touch,
The memory of our love, a bittersweet ache so much
Yet, even in my sorrow, a flicker of hope remains,
For love, like the seasons, knows both sunshine and rain
The crimson tears I weep may nourish the waiting ground,
And from my pain, a new love, even more beautiful, be found
So I stand, a solitary rose, in the twilight’s fading glow,
A testament to love’s enduring strength, even in the face of woe
My crimson tears may fall, but my heart will not despair,
For love, like a rose, can bloom again, with beauty beyond compare
