Life unfolds in chapters, some etched, some a blur,
But one memory lingers, vibrant, pure
It was a time of innocence, a heart untamed,

Across a crowded room, our eyes did meet,
A stolen glance, a fluttering beat
A nervous smile, a blush that crept,
A silent language, emotions kept

A feeling nascent, precious to hold
The world around faded, a distant hum,
Only you remained, overcoming the numb
Conversations hesitant, words shyly spoken,
A shared laugh, a trust awoken
Fumbling touches, a hand held tight,
A universe discovered in the fading light
Love’s first flash, a kaleidoscope bright,
Filling the world with a newfound light
Butterflies danced, a nervous delight,
A future unseen, yet oh so right
Days turned to weeks, a bond that grew,
Whispered promises, dreams coming true
Innocence painted the world in gold,
A future unwritten, a story untold
Love’s first flash, a warmth that embraced,
Two souls entwined, a love to be chased
Forever seemed a promise, a whispered vow,
In that innocent world, we knew nothing of how
Years have flown by, seasons have changed,
Lessons learned, the path rearranged

A foundation built, on that youthful thrill

Through joy and sorrow, holding on tight
It taught us the power of a heart’s desire,
The beauty of innocence, a love set on fire
Though wrinkles have etched, and hair turned to gray,
The embers of that first love still find a way
For in its essence, a truth remains,
Love’s first flash, a fire that sustains

Leading us onward, no matter how far

Warming our hearts through the darkest night
