Xiaomi has launched 2 new amazing phones. Both the phones were frequently coming in leaks for a long time. Most people already knew about its physical appearance and specifications. Both of these have now finally been launched.

Redmi 5 Plus screen

The main highlight of Redmi 5 Plus is its screen. The screen flaunts a full HD resolution (2160x1080) with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The screen is 5.99 inches and has a PPI of 403 pixels per inch. Redmi 5 Plus sports a super fast and trusted processor from SnapDragon 625 with the Adreno 506 for the Graphical Processing Unit (GPU).

Redmi 5 Plus Specification

It comes in two variants- 3GB RAM with 32GB Storage and 4GB with 64GB Storage. Both of the variants of the phone come with expandable storage. Redmi 5 Plus can last for more than a day as it has an impressive battery with a capacity of 4000 mAh. The phone boasts a 12 MP rear camera with a pixel size of 1.25 micron and an LED flash. The front camera is equally stunning with a 5MP lens and also an LED flash. The phone has a sleek design similar to that of Redmi Note 4 which is the typical Xiaomi style.

Redmi 5 Plus Gold Color

There is a fingerprint scanner below the rear camera. It comes with a micro USB port for charging and data transfer. Almost all the required sensors are given in the phone. Redmi 5 Plus has a metal back case with 2.5D glass. Another feature of the phone is the rounded edges of the screen.

Redmi 5 Plus isn’t a big improvement from its predecessor but it has an amazing price tag at only 198 USD for the 32 GB variant, and 250 USD for the 64 GB variant.

Redmi 5 Plus Black Color
Redmi 5 Plus Light Blue and Rose Gold

The phone comes in 4 colors which are Black, Light Blue, Gold and Rose Gold. Android 7.1.2 serves as the basis for MIUI in this smartphone. There is an update planned to Android 8.1 in the third quarter of 2018. After a brief period of getting used to it, the operation of MIUI should become easy, even for those who change from other Android devices or Apple products. Redmi 5 Plus comes with reasonably less bloatware.

A few tools have been provided by the manufacturer, such as Mi Drop with which you can send and receive files over WLAN, a screen recorder and compass. The Redmi 5 Plus sports the support of LTE Cat. 6 with speeds of up to 300 MBit/s during download and up to 50 MBit/s during upload. So should you buy this smartphone from Xiaomi? We would say yes.

The smartphone offers quite a good price-performance ratio. While this is not as great on paper anymore as for some of its predecessors, many things such as the warranty now work better.
