What To Do When The Blank Screen Stares At You?

Or when you Stare at it.

I often find myself lost staring at the blank white screen and that’s why I got engaged on my new Writing Mission. Simply : I’ve pledged to myself that I will write at least one post a day here at Medium.

I took this decision to get out of the Writer’s Block Box and to become a better writer, in time.

And guess what? It’s working! Yaay!

Let’s just come to the point. Have you ever found yourself trapped in a staring disease? Are you out of ideas to write about? Well, here’s what you need to do.

Defeat The Blank Screen!

  1. First and most of all, know that “Writer’s Block is an imaginary object.” It’s not present out there. You just create it yourself.
  2. Read more.
  3. And some more.
  4. Don’t force yourself to write something up.
  5. OR don’t write something just for the sake of increasing the number.
  6. Go out for a walk, have a coffee, hang out with friends or listen to some music.
  7. Observe things closer. And when you observe things — Think!
  8. Think, Think, Think and Think until you create an idea that will make other people THINK.
  9. And when you have a grasp to the idea, don’t let it decay.
  10. Just write, don’t stare.

Oh hey, see how I wrote an article in 5 minutes even without having an idea? Guess what? I was staring at the blank screen and when I observed and thought about what I was doing, I came up with this post. Claps for me, isn’t it. ( Well, I know it’s a bit weird for someone to ask for claps. But, I don’t give a damn. Just clap ☺ )

I hope this helps. Stop staring at me and start writing.
