Bohol Hosts 5th VICTOR Summit

Bohol, Philippines — the beautiful island province will soon play host to one of the biggest ICT conferences in the Philippines, the Visayas ICT Cluster Organization (VICTOR) Conference.

Every first quarter of the year since 5 years ago — all the ICT champions of the Visayas gather to learn from each other, develop strategies for execution, pitch for our respective locations and fellowship with on goal in mind — economic development in the countryside.

This year, 2017 is no different.

The Visayas Islands will marks its 5th year of collaboration, sharing of best practices for creating jobs and opportunities for the countryside and driving innovation.

This 5th VICTOR Conference, all ICT champions from Luzon and Mindanao who are striving their very best to improve their manpower and business ecosystems to help their respective local economies will be joining to do another round of progress building.

Education at its core

The 5th VICTOR Conference will also include another first.

During the 3rd Visayas ICT Cluster Organization (VICTOR) Conference in Bacolod in 2015, a program was launched called The Visayas Creative Congress where different stakeholders from the creative community would gather together to work on creating masterpieces and community showcases.

For the 5th VICTOR Conference, the island province of Bohol will launch its 1st Education Summit

Bohol’s 1st Education Summit will convene educators, school administrators and different people who have a stake at Bohol’s educational future.

Here are the workshops and topics that will be discussed during the 1st Bohol Education Summit:

1- 2 PM:

IT-BPM Assessment Workshop for the Education Sector of Bohol by Ana Maria “Penny” Bongato”

2- 2:40 PM:

Industry Perspectives: Human Capital in the Philippines Roadmap 2022 by IT-BPM Chair, Jonathan De Luzuriaga

2:40–3:20 PM:

Policy Ecosystems for Next Wave Cities Government Perspectives by DICT NWC Head, Moncito Ibrahim

After the speaker workshops, a planning discussion will consequently follow to gather feedback from the community and synthesize measurable and doable plans and strategies to make sure that our more than 2M unemployed and several more millions under employed brothers and sisters are able to find opportunities to live a decent life and get better education.

The 5th VICTOR Conference and Bohol’s 1st Education Summit is brought to us by Provincial Government of Bohol through the Bohol Investment Promotion Center (BIPC), Bohol ICT Council, City of Tagbilaran, DICT, NICP, and VICTOR.
