The Oath and Covenant of the Priesthood, Part 1
Christopher Kirkland

Several times in your midrash reading of section 84 you indicate the very words of the revelations are attributed to the Lord. Many of your thoughts seem to emphasize the importance of the Lord choosing words specifically, even relying on those specifics for interpretation. Knowing that Joseph changed the words of revelations in a large number of sections of the D&C and the Book of Mormon, why take this position? Why favor an original word over one Joseph changed later? I’m curious about your reasoning because it seems to go against the the idea that imperfect men, even prophets working under divine mandate and inspiration, area working with their full moral agency and their human mortality when struggling to transmit their visions of the Eternities with human language.
