zkSync Name Service (“zkNS”) is now driven to channel personal choice through innovation and flexibility! With this, we are excited to announce that zkNS is expanding its domain name offerings to provide users with even more options. With the launch of our extended domain suffixes, you can now choose between three distinct domain extensions: .zk, .zks, and .zksync.

This upgrade marks a significant innovation in the space of Web3 domain names, making it easy for you to own a unique domain that suits your needs and ensures the continuous growth of your domain’s value.

In this tutorial section, we will show you two methods for switching domain name suffix functions and guide you through the step-by-step process of doing it on the zkSync Name Service. So, let’s get to know deeper how to operate extended domain suffixes!

Step 1: Enter zkSync Name Service website

Please enter the website https://zkns.domains/, and proceed on clicking “Launch App”.

Step 2: Connect your Wallet

• Once you have launched the app, ensure that your network is connected to the zkSync chain.

• At the top right corner, connect your wallet by using Metamask, Argent, or BitKeep. Please remember you must own at least one .zk domain first and link to that wallet address.

Step 3: Managing your Domain Name

• First, you have to click “My Profile” to enter this page.

• After clicking “My Profile”, you can select “Registrant” to view all .zk domain names you have.

Step 4: Setting and Switching your extended Domain Suffixes

You have two ways to switch your domain suffix, you can select .zk, .zks, or .zksync as your suffix!

Method 1 (recommended and preferred)

• Select and click on the domain that you want to switch the suffix.

• After automatically redirecting to the “Details” page of this domain name, click on “niceday.zk”.

• Select your extension of zkNS.

Method 2

• Select the domain that you want to switch suffix and click the “Switch Extension” button after it.

• Select your extension of zkNS.

Step 5: Pay your Gas Fees

After clicking the “Confirm” button, you’ll be redirected to the payment “Gas Fees” page and you have to pay, to switch to your “.zk”, “.zks” or “.zksync” suffix domain name.

Step 6: Check your new domain name after switching

Under “My domains” in “Registrant”, you can view your new domain name after switching the suffix.
