lol comparing soap with rest is meaningless. Soap was not meant for browsers. Have you tried ever to parse an xml dom with javascript and get the data you need? I did, it wasn’t pleasant experience. SOAP is great for intra microservise communication maybe, but REST is what it is its a contract between the client and the provider. There are different ways of implementing it, but generally simple rules like using verbs, using pluriel, sperate multi words wioth dashes, internal links, and stuff like that help with managing the expectations from both perspective. Sure put can be replaced with post, and that’s what most of the backends do, mostly because of laziness. Delete is gread istead of having POST /mydomain/api/item/:id/delete I can continue with examples that rebut your whining points. Seems to me like you are in this industry from a long time and worked too long with SOAP and now its complicated for you to evolve to REST
