eBay is an online e-commerce site. It’s known for second hand goods and rare items. More and more people are flocking to the side.

Maybe they’re stuck at home and buying things out of boredom, or maybe they have realised that the things that they have been buying pre-pandemic are no longer sustainable. Whatever it is, eBay’s user base has boomed.

Not only does this mean an increase in buyers, but it also means an increase in sellers. People who have never sold anything online before, could be setting up new accounts. People who make a living scamming people, could also be making use of the use of boom and making new accounts.

Most of the shops that you will see on there are most of the items that you will find, are being sold by individual people. You might come across the rare occasional shop but these are definitely the minority.

It is also worth noting that just because the organisation behind it is a “normal shop”, it does not mean that they will be more trustworthy. You don’t know who is running the account.

Treat these accounts like you would an individual person’s account. Deliberate and think critically.
