National Gallery of Scotland, Scotland, is one of the oldest of the five museums in Scotland. It is located in the heart of Edinburgh’s “Mound” (The Mound), between the old city and built in the eighteenth century between the new town. The museum has Scotland’s richest and most precious European paintings and sculptures, covering all the genres from the Renaissance to the post-Impressionist, the best of the world’s equivalent art galleries.

A lot of paintings into the art museum made me pleasing, in addition to seeing the works I once liked the painter’s work, there are some new paintings that make me immersed. It’s really amazing.

Jan Van Huysum1682–1749

Flower Still Life in a Sculpted Stone Vase about 1718

Oil on copper

The painter painted the flowers of different seasons and the different kinds of flowers and insects on the same canvas, and the picture looked full of luxury, depicting the beauty of the plants and the skillful use of light and shade. Primary and secondary, black background and bright flowers in front of a sharp contrast, it can not help but stop. At the same time the artist for the aristocratic painting reasons, but also in the painting to experience the feeling of luxury.

Claude Monet(1840–1926)

Les Meules 1890

Oil on copper

Impressionist paintings in front of the front is always attracting a large wave of visitors come to take pictures, maybe because the painter’s famous come here or because of the painting attracted. Impressionist painting gives a hazy and comfortable feeling, there is no outline of the scene, relying on the perfect use of color show the scene, like a dream like a reality. Giving people the space to see a long time will not fatigue but will be more relaxed. And Monet’s natural scene is also let people look more and more intoxicated.

Aelbert Cuyp(1620–1691)

A Horse,Cattle and a Cowherd Resting in a Landscape about 1650

Oil on panel

The expression of light and shadow in this picture is very perfect expression, that touch of golden light sprinkled on the animal and the hero’s body, cloudy and dark background so that the main body more prominent. Have to say that the Netherlands produced a lot of good painters. I like this works that can see the light.
