Great post. I especially like the part about “forced diversity” making it limited as to who you’re supposed to relate to. A character isn’t great because of their race, they’ve been limited by it. It reminds me of reading that Robin was created for kids to imagine themselves fighting alongside Batman. But if you’re pretending at all, why not be Batman?

Again, the message you’ve got here is great. I like that you’ve got Joss Whedon up top because, well, I hate him and how quick he is to call people misogynists for not thinking men suck as much as he does.
