Continue Investing and Continue Improving
Who not like their money increase? Who not like their wealth increase? Everybody like if their money or anything good in them keep increasing. I think that is the goals of investing, we want to get more in return in the future, even though it is not always end up good, because sometimes the investment fail.
The idea of investing is inherent in Islamic teaching. We are commanded to look for our future by investing to ourselves. So, how is investing to ourselves and what to invest? It’s almost the same as making investment in material things, what we invest is what we see as something important to our life and we need it, and it is evident that majority see money as something important.
So what is precious from us according to Islam, it is time. We are ordered to use our time wisely, use it for something good, use our time to seek knowledge, do good deeds, improve our character, and anything good for our future whether in is about our life in dunya or later in akhira. Invest anything good in both of them. Rasulullah himself said that those who their today’s condition is the same as their yesterday’s condition are loss, and those who their today’s condition is worse that their yesterday’s condition are cursed.
If we really ponder to this hadith, we will see the truth and the great teaching within it. What would we say about people who their level of knowledge, their character, even their career is the same as the last year? We see them have wasted their time for nothing. What happen if their condition today are worse than the last year, what would we say about them? Verily, the teaching conveyed in this hadith is not just a beautiful quotations, but it is a way of life, we must always improve, little by little in anything good for ourselves so when we review ourselves, we will see someone who are better that they last year. We will be amongs those who are lucky and fortunate because we are not waste or time and we are always become better. May Allah help us to be people who keeps improved and keeps getting better. Aameen
