The top brand in my mind



Although there are interesting several beverage brands in the market, I rarely drink soft drinks. The first reason is that I am Gastritis. Secondly, I believe that drinking normal water is the best choice for health. As a result, I often drink only normal water. However, when it comes to soft drinks, the only one soda brand that is the top brand in my mind is Coca Cola.


I have known Coca Cola since I was a little kid because my mother likes to drink it. Nevertheless, the reason that Coca Cola is my favorite brand is not the taste but it is branding. It generally accepted that Coca Cola is a global brand so Coca Cola may have a huge budgets to create marketing campaigns in order to build brand and maintain to be a big brand for many decades. In my opinion, the answer of success is not only a large amount of money but also creativity of marketing communication campaigns.


Firstly, it can be seen that the core communication message of Coca Cola is related to Happiness. Brand always creates the interesting and distinctive campaigns which represent to its communication message very well. A good illustration of this is marketing communication project named Share a Coke campaign in 2011. The tactic of this campaign is Coca Cola launch the products which logo on the label was removed and replaced by the most 150 popular names in UK. This gimmick leads to unintentional purchasing because consumers willing to buy the products which their name or their friend’s name is on the bottles by themselves even though they do not really want to drink it. Moreover, the consumers who their name is not on the 150 lists can personalize their name on the bottle through printing kiosk around the cities. This campaign was very successful and expanded to many countries. In this year, Coca Cola bring this campaign back again with 1,000 names.

Next, Coca Cola continually creates fantastic limited edition packages of Diet Coke which are designed by global designers or fashionistas to reach lady consumers by linking the brand with fashion and beauty. Moreover, the limited edition products is very special products because they are designed and distributed only in some countries. Consequently, the products appear to attract customer especially women to collect or buy them without thinking. Furthermore, most of those designers who design the Coca Cola packages are my favorite designers or brands such as Marc Jacob, Milin and Kloset in Thailand so I like most of packaging designs of Diet Coke. Accordingly, Coca Cola seem to understand ladies insight since Coca Cola creates fashion marketing strategy to satisfy target consumers.

To conclude, Coca Cola is my favorite brand because of marketing strategies which is creative and different from other brands. Moreover, Coca Cola seems to understand my feminine insight by generating marketing tactic which is fascinating. Although I cannot drink sodas, Coca Cola is my first choice of soft drink.
