A kid
Just a kid
Accidental
Just accidental?
What’s the damn plan
For an end
To this?

The rain
Plinks windows
In spring midnight
But will not wash out
Brutality
Angry death
Or hate

Children
Be careful
On public streets
They will shoot you dead
In self defense
For someone
They claim.

Frightful.. and whatever else comes to mind. These are “older” Zay’s Zen — written a year ago. The conditions that prompted these have not changed — and that, that alone, is frightful.
