They stood up together. The masses, In their civil ranks. The emancipation, a few days shy of being an August visitor came in a rush. Voices tallied with actions, people trooped out in record numbers, for a moment the citizenry participants of our nation-state was well equipped with the knowledge and sheer will-power to remodel their lives against the swallowers.

#TheEndSarsMovement was a convergence of ordinary people rallying against the police system and in particular an anti robbery division that had gone rogue. Gradually the movement gathered momentum and new demands were pressed the table. No one envisioned it bloating up so fast, even the agents of the state were taken by surprise, scrambling for amendments and favourable resolutions. Although the losses were quite enormous — how the movement was squashed out still gives nostalgic irks a year after, yet, the reassurance of democracy; the shared burden of participation we all are endowned with gives me hope.

Taking this pictures made me realize what it takes to bea Nigerian and also the fact that I wanna keep the Present so the history won’t be altered.
