The love that never was with much to regret,
Memories full of pain how can I forget.
I used to play dangerously like Russian roulette,
Yet afraid to take the leap of faith without a sure bet.
I now play to your tune with an old clarinet,
A feeling so lonely giving me a cold sweat.
If we could only rewind or just simply press reset,
To earn your loving trust and I will be forever in debt.
Your gorgeous looks are wrapped in a beautiful vignette,
Your precious smile I cherish enough to make my heart melt.
I yearn for the seductive scent of your skin my sweet violet,
I thirst for the gentle kiss of your lips from sunrise to sunset.
Many times has this story been told like a broken cassette,
The love that never was with much to regret.
