Ideas:

As the school does not require students to wear masks, the ‘facial’ changes brought about by the epidemic are about to fade, and we can once again see each other’s faces. That’s a good thing for most of the people afflicted by the pandemic. It’s just that the end of one thing always makes people feel a tinge of emotion, and it may be difficult for people in the future to understand the experience of wearing a mask all the time, and the experience of not even taking a sip of water in order to prevent infection. So, I want to record data about masks to memorize the 2 years people have been with masks.

I recalled my experience of wearing a mask. When it is cold outside, the heat in your mouth will be wrapped in the mask and cannot be dissipated, thus forming a damp vapor in the mask. I think that’s a form of masks being there.

So I plan to make masks with transparent materials to show the water vapor created by people, and use this water vapor value as the degree of connection between people and masks. I might use the humidity sensor to sense the amount of water vapor, and then use p5js or other forms as the output to tell people their water vapor value.

The data I track is the connection between people and masks. Maybe it’s the length of time you wear the mask, or how many times you talk while wearing the mask.

How it works:

Input: the fog/vapor in the transparent masks

Sensor: Humidity Sensor

Output: patterns on P5js; LED lights that can pop up on the head; headgear that sprays fog on the head…(still thinking about the output)
