Day 19: Beyond
It’s because of the mountains that we forget the ground
It’s because of the mountains that we forget the ground
And yet, there could be no mountains without the ground
We remember during an earthquake, when
The mountains crumble, into ground
While the old ground rises up into mountains
Up-down, up-down, ebb-flow, a cycle of destruction
We say, ‘remember the ground’ and pay no mind to the mountains
But our eyes can’t help rising in their presence
Like the ears of a dog who hears his master
So we’re left with life in the plains
Beyond the mountains
Where they don’t block our view of the ground
