Visualizing Machine Learning Papers
My friends and I are working on a new search engine, called Etymo (https://etymo.io), for data scientists to find interesting research papers.
One cool feature which makes Etymo special is that it visualizes search results to reveal interesting structures within the research area, hence we can see patterns that would otherwise be invisible.
Here is a simple example. The purple circles in the image below represent papers from the Conference on Neural Information Processing Systems (NIPS) 2016. We can see the two papers on Matrix Recovery are close to the papers on Matrix Completion and Principal Component Analysis (PCA), which means Matrix Completion, Matrix Recovery, and PCA are closely related topics. Patterns like this are particular useful for researchers who are new to the field.

Research Paper Collections
There are currently six journal collections in Etymo and we plan to include more soon. https://etymo.io/collection
- Latest ArXiv Papers
- Journal of Machine Learning Research (JMLR)
- Proceedings of Neural Information Processing System (NIPS)
- Proceedings of International Conference on Learning Representations (ICLR)
- SIAM Journal on Scientific Computing
- SIAM Journal on Matrix Analysis and Applications
(In the coming weeks, we will add collections of research papers published by industry-leading companies such as Google DeepMind.)
